NCUC asks Board to uphold its policy making process by rejecting GNSO resolution

On March 30, NCUC Executive Committee members asked ICANN's board to discard an unusual motion that was railroaded through the GNSO Council. A special GNSO drafting team bypassed the normal policy making process and made a last-minute change in policy in order to give the International Olympic Committee and the Red Cross special privileges in the upcoming new top level domain application process. The drafting team ignored public comments and even tried to short-circuit the public comment…See More

Seth Reiss talks about WHOIS

"Most of what Reiss says is inaccurate. Whois is not "highly inaccurate", only about 8% of the tens of millions of entries are wrong according to studies, and fewer is seriously wrong. The real issue is whether the data is sufficient for…"

Consumer Fraud

I've posted a new blog entry at the Internet Governance Project, warning people about the staff's attempt to create a fake Consumers Constituency in order to dilute and divide the influence of noncommercial stakeholders in the new GNSO.

Civil society still has to fight to be fairly represented in ICANN

In Sydney, the Board's Structural Improvements Committee caved in to business pressure and made two decisions that are almost unbelievable in the degree to which they discriminate against civil society and completely ignore public comments.

It is actually a 'rock dassie' or hyrax. A small African animal that likes to spend its days perched on warm rocks in the sun.... preyed on by eagles. I definitely identify with it. I would like to spend my days sitting in the sun somewhere high up on a mountain, and being preyed on by eagles is bound to be simpler than (and preferable to) raising funds!

Many thanks for the welcome Milton; only one precision, I'm not from Chile, I'm from SPAIN, from Santiago de Compostela ( the first Santiago in the world, the grave of Apostle St. James).
Best regards

Ángel
